If my post offends you im sorry its not my intention to do so, but I have to let this out. I pray you forgive me.
Just read B-flows post about awards and the reactions from my fellow artists who’ve won, or been nominated and lost and I’ve just realised that in all my years of making music in this country I have never won an award for my work even after releasing a lot of good music and i never talk about it. I have been nominated once (BnB 2011 which I lost) and honestly I’m starting to wonder why?
Is it that you don’t appreciate my music or am I not musician enough?
Do you want to appreciate and award me when I’m dead too?
This industry can be frustrating, and the fact that Zambian music doesn’t sell is really worrying. Everyone keeps releasing albums yes, bit where have you seen the same albums in town, at least original copies anyway?
Why some of us still do this is beyond me, you uphold and love strange music all the time, we now have to sing vile things to get recognition from you, when we make good music you look away.
The same people keep winning these so called awards that always have discrepancies and confusion, as if there only 5 artists in this country and It’s like the people that choose these categories or nominate are deaf, blind and dumb.
Keep your awards!
Do not award us when we die!
I will sing for God and he’ll judge my works according to his will.
