Phat Jam Records Signs New Artiste | Chuba

Isaac Chuba Zulu, better known as “Chuba” was raised in Lusaka, Zambia. He is a soul, folk, alternative, Indie singer, song writer and actor. He started out music from church at a very early where he sung in the choir and learnt to sing around his mother and siblings.

As an artiste – Chuba had been performing in the background and opening shows as a backup vocalists for performer Jay Rox. He the recorded songs  which had gone unnoticed  until early 2013 when he wrote the song “Mwana Wanga” for sensational legendary song bird Maureen Lilanda under the Zambia institute for sustainable development project (ZISD  10101 No Ma One) and featured on the album “Outside the Rox “ For jay Rox’s song “How Mama Raised Me”. His song “Lullaby” caught childhood friends Skillz for phat jam records CEO by storm and the dual are ignited the frame to work on what  will be the single to look out for in 2017.

Jay Rox gave and producer Peezey cables him a platform to open his shows and introduced him to more listeners. On his choice of sound, Chuba admits he didn’t start out with it as  a he had tried his hands at multiple genre’s of music including afro pop, reggae and many others didn’t work out until he figured out a way to stand out after coming across music by Ed Sheeran, Philip Philips and George Ezra who influenced his writing ability and make the sound African.

Chuba’s music has been inspired by the chain smokers, of monsters  and men,John legend, Owl City, Dixie chicks, laura mvula, Enya etc. The talented singer stated he wants to take Zambian Music to the world and contribute to positive music that will show case Zambian culture and the beautiful scenery the country has to the rest of the world.

On March 1st, 2017 Chuba was officially announced as a Phat Jam Records artist.
