The Zambia Association of Musicians “ZAM” has joined the efforts to support traders affected by the blaze at City Market last week.
A fundraising concert has been schedule for tomorrow 15 July at Woodlands Stadium in Lusaka. Relocation of the victims is now well underway, with the government mobilization committee relocating around 4,000 trades to Simon Mwewa lane and new Soweto market so far.
Vice President Inonge Wina says that pledges for support so far stand at around K12 million.Minister of Local Government Vincent Mwale announced plans for a new multi-stores market earlier this week at an anticipated cost of US$20 million
Equating to K178 million.
