Ub40 Performing Live In Zambia Hearding The 2016 Stanbic Music Festival

Members of the legendary UK Reggae band UB40 have arrived in Lusaka for their highly anticipated weekend shows at the Lusaka Polo Club.

The band which is headlining the 2016 The Stanbic Music Festival has since promised to put up a great performance for its Zambian fans.

The three original band members that have arrived in the country are Ali Campbell, Astro and Mickey Virtue.
Speaking during a news conference this afternoon at Pamodzi Hotel, Campbell said the group is happy to finally get a chance to perform in Zambia.

He said the last time the band performed in Southern Africa was in South Africa when Nelson Mandela was released from prison.

Campbell declared that UB 40 is in Zambia to have a party.

And the organisers of the music festival Stanbic Bank have moved to dispel online reports that the group which is due to perform in Lusaka this weekend is a fake UB 40 group.

Stanbic Bank Zambia Spokesperson Chanda Chime clarified that the band members who have arrived in Zambia are the original UB 40 members although the group had split at some point.

There was near uproar from some Zambians after some tweets purportedly coming from UB 40’s official Tweeter account showed that the group had nothing to do with the Zambia concert.

And organisers are struggling with low ticket sales for the concert and have now resorted to selling the tickets on credit under company registration.

Tickets range from K1000 to K500.
