Zambia’s entertainment industry has achieved a significant milestone with Zambian actress Zowa Ngwira securing a prominent role in the highly anticipated Netflix animated series, “Supa Team 4.”
The groundbreaking show, created by Zambian writer Malenga Mulendema, is a collaboration between Triggerfish Animation Studios from South Africa and British company CAKE. Notably, it will be the first-ever Netflix animated production developed in Africa.
“Supa Team 4” takes place in the futuristic city of Lusaka, Zambia, following the thrilling adventures of four talented teenage girls who join forces with a retired secret agent to become undercover superheroes on a mission to save the world. With its blend of African storytelling, dynamic characters, and cutting-edge animation, the series aims to captivate a global audience.
Zowa Ngwira joins an ensemble cast that includes acclaimed South African actors Namisa Mdlalose, Nancy Sekhokoane, John MacMillan, and Pamela Nomvete. This diverse and talented group is expected to bring depth, emotion, and authenticity to the show’s characters.
